Signal conditioning for integrating load cells, force measurement and weighing systems into automated industrial processes.
The SCAIME CPJ and CPJ2S are analogue signal conditioners for load cells and strain gauge sensors. They convert the sensor signal into an industrial current or voltage output suitable for connection to a compatible PLC, data acquisition system or industrial controller.
The CPJ / CPJ2S family supports up to four load cells with 4- or 6-wire connections. This makes it suitable for weighing applications with multiple support points, including tanks, hoppers and platforms, provided that the electrical characteristics of the connected sensors are compatible with the selected configuration.
The CPJ2S additionally provides two relay switching thresholds. These can be used when the application requires alarm or switching signals alongside the analogue weight or force measurement.

Final specifications depend on the model, mounting format and selected part number. The IP65 protection rating applies only to the enclosure version specified with that rating.

Industrial Applications and Benefits
Tank, Silo and Hopper Weighing
The CPJ / CPJ2S can condition signals from load cells installed beneath tanks, silos and hoppers and transmit the measurement to a control system. The resulting weight information can be used for process monitoring and automation.
Load Cell Integration with PLCs
When a PLC has compatible analogue inputs, the signal conditioner allows weight or force measurements to be incorporated through a standardised analogue signal, rather than connecting the low-level strain gauge signal directly to the PLC.
Force Measurement in Industrial Machinery
The CPJ / CPJ2S family can also be used to monitor loads and forces in industrial machines, subject to the characteristics of the sensor and the measurement requirements of the application.
Alarm and Threshold-Based Control

How to Connect Load Cells to an Industrial PLC
A strain gauge load cell produces a low-level electrical signal related to the applied load. The CPJ / CPJ2S conditions this signal so that it can be used by compatible industrial control equipment.
