Helmholz TB20 600-185-1AA11 EtherCAT Bus Coupler

HELMHOLZ TB20 | ETHERCAT DISTRIBUTED I/O

Integrate remote input and output modules into EtherCAT networks for industrial machinery and process automation.

The Helmholz TB20 600-185-1AA11 is an EtherCAT bus coupler designed to connect peripheral modules from the TB20 distributed I/O system to an EtherCAT controller.

The coupler detects the installed TB20 modules and automatically maps their input and output data to the EtherCAT process data. It supports up to 64 peripheral modules connected in series and provides a process image of up to 1,024 bytes of input data and 1,024 bytes of output data.

Module configuration and parameterisation can be performed using TB20 ToolBox or through the CANopen over EtherCAT (CoE) object dictionary. The device supports the Modular Device Profile (MDP) and provides diagnostic functions to simplify commissioning and maintenance.

Applications and Benefits

EtherCAT Remote I/O for Machine Builders

The TB20 EtherCAT bus coupler enables machine builders to distribute input and output signals and connect them to an EtherCAT controller. Its modular architecture allows the number and type of I/O channels to be adapted to the requirements of each machine.

I/O Expansion in Production Lines

Support for up to 64 peripheral modules makes it possible to configure I/O stations with different digital and analogue signals, depending on the selected TB20 modules and the electrical limits of the system.

Commissioning and Diagnostics

TB20 ToolBox can be used to configure modules and their parameters, perform diagnostic checks and test I/O functions. Configuration is also possible through the CoE object dictionary.

Modular System Maintenance

TB20 peripheral modules can be replaced during operation in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. This helps simplify certain maintenance tasks without dismantling the entire I/O station.

What Is Required to Build a TB20 EtherCAT I/O Station?

The 600-185-1AA11 bus coupler provides the communication interface for the station. A functional TB20 system also requires at least one compatible TB20 peripheral module.

SENSORS AND ACTUATORS

Important: the bus coupler does not itself provide the I/O channels required by the application. Peripheral modules must be selected separately and must be compatible with the TB20 system. I/O modules from other manufacturers cannot be connected as if they were TB20 station modules.
