New-Flow LT206H Side-Mounted Magnetic Level Switch for Marine Applications

NEW-FLOW LT206H | MARINE & INDUSTRIAL LEVEL CONTROL

Flanged side-mounted magnetic float level switch for point level detection in liquid tanks, vessels and shipboard auxiliary systems.

The New-Flow LT206H is a horizontal, side-mounted magnetic float level switch designed to detect a predefined liquid level in tanks and vessels. It features a flanged process connection and a magnetic mechanism that operates an electrical microswitch.

As the liquid level rises or falls, the float changes position and actuates an SPDT changeover contact through the magnetic mechanism. This provides a discrete signal that can be integrated into compatible alarm, monitoring and industrial control systems.

The LT206H includes a manual test device and is available with different flange sizes, pressure ratings and materials. The appropriate configuration must be selected according to the fluid, operating conditions and mechanical requirements of the installation.

Key Features

Side-mounted design

Horizontal installation through a flanged connection on the tank wall.

Magnetic float mechanism

Point level detection through magnetic actuation of a microswitch.

SPDT changeover contact

Common, normally open and normally closed terminals for electrical integration.

Manual test device

Built-in mechanism for checking the switching operation.

Marine Applications and Benefits

Shipboard Tanks and Vessels

The LT206H can be used for point level detection in liquid tanks and vessels installed on board ships, subject to the fluid characteristics, installation conditions and project requirements.

High- and Low-Level Alarms

The SPDT changeover contact can be integrated into monitoring systems to generate an alarm when the liquid reaches or falls below a predefined level. The alarm logic must be configured according to the installation requirements.

Shipbuilding and Marine Maintenance

The flanged side-mounted design makes the LT206H a candidate for new installations and replacement projects requiring point level detection. The flange configuration, wetted materials and available clearance for float movement must be checked before installation.

Industrial Tank Level Monitoring

In addition to marine applications, the LT206H can be integrated into industrial tank monitoring and filling or emptying control systems using suitable electrical control and protection devices.

How Does the LT206H Magnetic Level Switch Work?

The LT206H uses a float positioned inside the tank. As the liquid level changes, the float moves and actuates the microswitch through a magnetic mechanism located within the device.

LEVEL SIGNAL TO THE CONTROL SYSTEM

The LT206H provides a discrete point level signal rather than continuous level or volume measurement. Applications requiring several detection points must be designed with the appropriate number of switches and control logic.

Marine Type Approval Documentation

New-Flow provides marine type approval documentation covering specified level switch products. Documentation relating to the LT206H/LT206V family includes references to ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) and Bureau Veritas.

For shipbuilding and marine projects subject to classification requirements, Garma Electrónica can assist with identifying the appropriate LT206H configuration and checking the applicable approval documentation.

Technical and approval documentation on request

Product datasheet, dimensional drawings, flange configuration, material specifications and applicable marine type approval documentation for the selected part number.

Important: acceptance of the device for a specific vessel or marine project depends on the validity and scope of the applicable certificates, the supplied configuration and the installation requirements established by the classification society and the project.

How to Select the Correct New-Flow LT206H Configuration

To identify the appropriate ordering code, the following application requirements should be confirmed:

  • Horizontal, side-mounted LT206H installation.
  • Process connection: 2½", 3" or 4" flange.
  • Flange rating: JIS 10K, ANSI 150, PN10 or another available option.
  • Flange and wetted-part materials compatible with the process fluid.
  • Liquid specific gravity, operating pressure and temperature.
  • Available internal clearance for float movement.
  • High-level or low-level switching function and electrical integration requirements.
  • Applicable marine classification and project documentation requirements, where relevant.
