Why ProfiShark
High-fidelity traffic capture
Get an exact trace file with all frames, tags, and protocols, including captured CRC errors, regardless of frame rate, bursts, or frame size. ProfiShark can capture packets with corrupted FCS (something regular PC NICs cannot do). Hardware packet slicing is available on all models.
Hardware timestamping
Performed on ingress with no impact on PC CPU, offering 5–8 ns resolution. It is disciplined on ProfiShark 100M/1G/10G and synchronized on ProfiShark 1G+/10G+. This provides the exact packet delta and absolute time as observed on the wire.
Transparent and non-intrusive access
Capture network data without impacting security or performance. Neither the ProfiShark nor the host PC will appear as a node on the network. Network connectivity is maintained even if the ProfiShark loses power*. ProfiShark supports PoE pass-through.
Ease of use
